As part of the Grande Forme 2019 programme, Le 149 takes over Glassbox for a reactivation of the works from “Edition 1” accompanied by a discussion with Pierre Frulloni, Quentin Lannes, Marjorie Ober and Cassandre Poirier-Simon.

Le 149 (Sacha Béraud and Anna Hess) produces and distributes artworks designed for the web and resulting from the collaboration between artists and designers. The “Edition 1” brought together at the end of 2018 four works specifically created for the occasion and accessible on the website www.le149.net.

☞ In the form of a blog, waterwallace.web is composed of a corpus of images of heterogeneous natures, links and documents from the duo’s work, their research and selected personal photos around the notion of the public square as an architectural, urbanistic, political and metaphorical object. For several weeks, users were able to augment and/or degrade the blog, expressing contradictory collective wills and underlining the diversity of possible forms of personal implications for or against the commonplace.

☞ “Une matière du présent” consists of a travelling shot in which the user is invited to move around through the scroll, the timeline of the story. Audio, video and text documents enhance the ballad like appendices slipped under the visitor’s fingers. This disjointed exploration offers a narrative experience specific to each web page update. The story never begins or ends in the same way.

☞”Amorce” is an interactive video that invites the Internet user to follow a writer in the writing of a manuscript, assisted by an intelligent writing assistant. The project concludes a long research carried out by the duo on the use of artificial intelligence in creative fields and on the integration of intelligent personal assistants in the domestic space.

☞ The BCC Channel is an experimental online environment that offers an encounter with moving images, works and documents that extend beyond the screen in which they are viewed. The platform uses the diffusion of works and video documents in real time on the internet alongside a chat room. The BCC Channel seeks to cultivate and support the creation and sharing of moving images that reflect, criticize, or play with contemporary cultural, political, or artistic issues as well as with our inherited media history.
