Jeanetta Rich, poet and filmmaker, creates work that is part social critique and screwball scripture. Based in Los Angeles she writes about the emotional lives of voiceless women, those who have been silenced through poverty and/or lack of education. Her past accomplishments include Meisner scholarship recipient at the New York Conservatory for Dramatic Arts and she received the National Audience Award at Indie Memphis Film Festival in 2021. Most recently, her film Desperate LA premiered at Metrograph in New York. Jeanetta has had work appear in Los Angeles Review of Books, Texte Zur Kunst, The Quarterless Review and Changes Press. Black Venus Flytrap is her debut book of poems from Deluge Press.
