Banquet-performance · Glassbox-sud

Thursday, 19 Jun at 8:00 PM

Glassbox and Catalyst Arts are pleased to invite you to Bolg Lán - two banquet-performances, co-organised at Glassbox locations (Paris & Montpellier - France) and featuring work by Ireland-based artists Charys Wilson, Silvia Koistinen, Eslam Abd El Salam, Fíne Holohan, Tara McGinn, and Catalyst Arts Co-Directors, who will be joining us in both locations, Emma Quin, Tori Clarkson and Samar Nezamabad.

Reservations are recommended

Bolg Lán brings two artistic communities together, for a fleeting moment of connection, togetherness and the generation of shared, sense-based knowledge.

Emma Quin, Tori Clarkson and Samar Nezamabad, three Irish arts practitioners and Co-Directors of Catalyst Arts, will cook and serve a selection of dishes from their home place which have memories, feelings and stories attached to them. Welcoming you into the space to enjoy and connect with these foods and their meanings, we will eat, share and commune with one another.

Bringing with them a selection of works from artists of the wider Catalyst Arts community, the banquet will be accompanied by an exhibition continuing this exploration of home, memory and familiarity.

Catalyst Arts is an artist-led space in Belfast. Founded in 1993 by a group of artists, it has become Belfast's leading artist-led space, offering opportunities, support, and community for emerging and established artists based in the North of Ireland. With a dedicated team of volunteers, the organisation produces an annual programme, showcasing a diverse range of art disciplines and launching the careers of many artists.

This project came from a desire to create meaningful connection between the communities of Catalyst Arts and Glassbox, nurturing a partnership that will grow and deepen with time. Representatives from Glassbox will journey to Belfast later this year to host banquet-performances at FIX25, Catalyst Arts Live Art performance biennial.

This project has been made possible with support of Fluxus Art Projects.
