TNHCH and Hilary Galbreaith occupy Glassbox in the same way as a garage, a record shop, a rehearsal room, a painting studio or a museum, without really agreeing on what is to become of the space on rue Moret, and without choosing between the visual arts and the performing arts. The fruit of three years' work, the album Valda was recorded at La Synagogue in Delme in the summer of 2022, inspired by the world of musician and artist Captain Beefheart, and the artists have created a hybrid, experimental ensemble.
For this collective residency, they have agreed to create a sound and visual laboratory where their work in painting, poster design, installation, video, performance and musical creation will intersect.
TNHCH is an experimental rock band with eclectic influences combining post-rock, post-punk, electronic and ambient music. Born in Rennes in 2013 under the impetus of Corentin Canesson (guitar) and Arthur Beuvier (machines, synthesizers), then joined by Damien Le Dévédec (bass, vocals), Tim Karbon (drums, percussion) and Maëla Bescond (vocals & bass).
Hilary Galbreaith was born in Florida in 1989; he lives and works in Rennes and graduated from ESAAA (Annecy) in 2017. Iel develops burlesque science fiction stories through forms as varied as drawing, writing, video installation and performance, with a focus on set design, costumes and collaboration with other musicians.
"VALDA" was produced as part of the Lindre-Basse residency at the Synagogue de Delme
