Born in 1995 in Seine-Saint-Denis, where he lives and works, Tom Magnier tries to advance his practice at the pace of the jobs he holds. A delivery driver, France Travail advisor, printer, dock worker and now teacher, he always seeks to free up time to create, make allies, think, explore, infiltrate, and develop an artistic practice at work, on and with those around him. Bringing these two realities into existence, at the same time and on the same level, in order to inhabit the city, develop forms of resilience, and work together. These worlds are linked through collective performances, which provide an opportunity to temporarily form selected troupes.
After graduating from the Cergy School of Fine Arts, Tom Magnier has presented his work in several group exhibitions at Glassbox, Treize, La Tour Orion (Espace Nonono), Neuvitech, Thundercage, and Papillon93. He has been teaching applied arts since 2023 at the Arthur Rimbaud Professional High School in La Courneuve.
This project is supported by the City of Paris as part of its Emerging Artists Grant Programme.
